National Achievers Congress

What an awesome day; the excitement was contagious as a crowd descended on the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland to learn from some of the best in business. It was invigorating to be surrounded by such positive energy, not to mention packed full of great wisdom and some really actionable advice. We left having learnt at least a few new things to try at Hello I.T. so here are some of our key takeaways from the two headline speakers on the day - Gary Vaynerchuck and Grant Cardone:

Grant Cardone

So let’s start by noting, neither of these speakers are for everyone. But you don’t need to agree with everything a person says to find value. Though we are long. long time followers of Gary V, this trip was our first proper encounter with Grant Cardone’s content.

Grant Cardone can be intense. He is here to succeed, here to make money and he makes no apologies for it. Our top three takeaways:

  • Invest in yourself and business, compound the investment.

  • Talk is easy, action is what will never let you down.

  • If I don't know you, I can't do business with you.

Check out his Youtube channel for more of his content.

Gary Vaynerchuck

And then we saw Gary. Now, between Breda and Dan, we have followed Gary and his content for years. Gary began by growing his father’s liquor store and has always stayed humble. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t dream, and with a goal of one day owning major sports team the New York Jets, you have to dream big. Gary’s content has transitioned with his audience over the years but his key messages currently include happiness is the R.O.I. and gratitude is everything. In our day to day life here at Hello I.T. we get a lot of value and practical tips from Gary’s books and online content.

  • There is huge value in giving without expectation of a return. Giving consistently and truly giving not just "fake giving" where there is an unspoken expectation of return. This could be giving your time, your advice, your content, your trust…

  • As a leader or manager, you constantly have to grow and view any situation from the eyes of your team.

  • Take ownership of every situation. Always look for what you could have or can do differently - you can only control your actions.

  • LinkedIn and TikTok are the next big platforms. Say hi :) Not only are they up and coming, but the engagement that you can achieve on these platforms currently, for free, is outstanding. If you could go back in time and be one of the early adopters and truly maximise Facebook or Instagram, would you?

  • Gratitude is everything.

Highly recommend checking out if you are interested in getting some good tips and insights into business, marketing and making happiness your R.O.I.

We are all forever learning and growing. If you ever find yourself with the opportunity to see either of these people at an event, go for it; you won’t regret it!
